Tony Towler

Managing Director

With decades of experience helping leaders set and implement sound strategy and significant culture change, Tony brings proven methodologies and practical tools, backed by the academic rigour of a first-class MBA, to help clients improve bottom-line results.

His early career provided a rich diversity of work-life experience in Australia and overseas, in public sector, Not-For-Profits and SMEs. In just over a decade with IBM he led regional operations, managed its certified contractors program in Queensland and was a Strategy Manager for IBM Australia.

For more than two decades now, Tony has delivered, led and directed an extensive range of successful projects for clients large and small, across many industries, several regions and all sectors (public and private companies, SMEs, government at all levels, NFPs).

For several years he has specialised in strengthening leaders and teams, from senior executives and senior leadership teams to front-line supervisors, and implementing culture-change initiatives. These have consistently resulted in significant bottom-line improvements and other benefits for clients in many industries from "Accommodation" to "Zinc", including automotive, aviation, construction, distribution, education, energy, engineering, government, health, manufacturing, mining, production, resources, retail, services, utilities, water and wholesale, throughout eastern Australia, Indonesia, Fiji and PNG.

Since 2013 Tony has lectured in leadership topics at the University of Queensland to final-year students embarking on professional-practice careers. He has consistently earned excellent ratings and feedback. In 2016 he was also appointed lecturer in Leadership to Masters-level classes, with a mandate to design, develop and deliver hands-on, high-involvement workshops with real-world practical-application value.

Current passions include helping client organisations undergoing significant change (mergers, restructures, downsizing, other) to re-engage, unite, re-motivate and upskill leaders at all levels to “step up” to higher levels of performance needed to survive and prosper.

(See “Change Leadership” offerings under "Services").

He is in demand as coach, mentor and "thinking partner" to senior executives and derives great fulfilment from helping his clients strengthen their personal effectiveness, leadership capacity and their teams.

Beyond work, Tony is TEFL/TESOL-certified. He teaches English pro-bono to refugees and asylum-seekers and provides regular pro-bono advocacy services. He and Helen have three daughters and now grandchildren with whom they are “besotted”. Their holidays and long weekends are often in national parks, state forests and other camp-grounds, soaking up nature amid bush-walking, mountain-climbing, reading and relaxing in their "grey-nomads" campervan.
